Bay Manager

The Opportunity

The Bay Manager will work as part of a team to manage a state-of-the art, indoor Cannabis Production Facility in North Denver. Assist in daily operations and all aspects of bay planning, execution, and management; oversee and manage Grow personnel; and support Assistant Head Grower and Grower in all warehouse business tasks..

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage a portion of a large-scale, production facility with a wide array of supplemental lighting.
  • Manage and assist in training a cultivation crew and ensure that all actions performed in the facility are compatible with highly developed systems.
  • Perform/supervise all required duties in the Grow Department, including the following areas of production: assist in cloning, transplanting, feeding plants, defoliation, cropping, topping, flushing, foliar and preventative sprays, waste disposal, and inventory management.
  • Continue to develop an extensive knowledge base of successful Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies.
  • Implement our existing, robust cultivation SOPs, and nutrient regiments.
  • Quantify and qualify data regularly, while following SOP and company policies and procedures.
  • Contribute and improve upon already-existing operations and processes to improve work-flow, efficiency, and provide constructive feedback and recommendations.
  • Insect detection, identification techniques, and general crop scouting.
  • Inspect crops and prepare reports and pre-harvest estimates for all crops.
  • Track environmental factors and record data to provide to Assistant Head Growers and Head Grower.
  • Oversee and manage basic pruning procedures for different stages of plant development.
  • Implement and oversee water, media, and solution sampling and testing procedures.
  • Maintain schedules for feed, watering, spray, drenching.
  • Adhere to industry standards and waste disposal procedures set forth by regulatory agencies.
  • Aid in oversight of the completion of operations in timely and efficient manner.
  • Lead by example and assist with propagation, planting, irrigation, mildew control, pest control, cultural management, plant health and maturity observations, and harvesting.
  • Maintain accurate daily activity records and operation logs as directed using designated software.
  • Operate heavy and light horticultural equipment and machinery.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment and oversee cleanliness and organization of all equipment present within the facility and warehouse.
  • Identify facility maintenance issues and communicate with appropriate maintenance team personnel.
  • Filling out performance trackers for associates on team.
  • Training and advancing the skills of the horticulturalists and leads.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Must already possess or be able to qualify to receive a Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED) support badge and be 21 years of age or older. 
  • Required 2 years of experience in growing.
  • Knowledge of soil and hydroponic growing methods including micronutrients, beneficial bacteria, and nutrient implementation, as well as pH, PPM, and EC counts.
  • Knowledge of container systems with soil and hydro, as well as understanding temperature and humidity manipulation.
  • Knowledge of plant diseases, insects and fungi, as well as plant treatment options.
  • Knowledge of large-scale commercial plant cultivation, including nutrient requirements, mediums, light requirements, temperature control, and air flow, etc.
  • Knowledge of Horticulture equipment and coco irrigation systems.
  • Capable of performing routine management and able to make equipment repairs or notify proper personnel when unable to.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to plan ahead, trouble-shoot, anticipate problems, and problem solve.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks at a time.
  • Ability to learn new technologies

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and push/pull up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to perform manual labor tasks required for the proper management of a large-scale grow warehouse.
  • Perform Repetitive Motions.
  • Sitting and standing for extended periods of time.
  • Walking long distances and traveling up flights of stairs.
  • Ability to perform the following physical tasks: sitting, standing, stooping, stretching, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, performing repetitive motions, and carrying boxes.

Pay Range - $50k-$60k
